Equipment Reservation and USE Guidelines

RESERVATION and USE GUIDELINES:

Shared equipment with in the Department is for Department members only. Research Facilities must approve all users. Some equipment is owned by individual labs and requires pre-authorization from owning PI. If you are unsure of your approval status contact: Research Facility Lab Support Services

Department Resources are shared instruments for Department members. All users should adhere to the following guidelines
 

  • Reservation MUST include the name of the user, PI,a phone number where you can be reached.
  • Include also the instrument name if more that one instrument is in the same room

    Reservations are limited to:
  • No more than once per day per individual
  • No more than 3 hours on any one day
  • No more than 4 times per week/per individual
  • No more than 14 days in advance
  • Do Not sign up for others (approved exceptions may apply- contact RF for approval prior to reserving for others)
  • If you cannot use your time, please open your time slot as soon as possible so others can use the time
  • Report equipment or use issues to the RF Helpdesk
  • Failure to report within 30 min of your scheduled time will be considered a cancellation and your reservation will be forfeited.
  • Individuals who repeatedly sign up for time and then cancel, or who do not show up, will have their access restricted
  • Time slots open as of 6 pm on the prior day, may be reserved by any approved department member, including those who may have already maxed out their time limits (see ‘Reservations are limited’ above)

All users are expected to perform proper procedures and each individual user is expected to clean/disinfect equipment responsibly with each use. Violators will be subject to use restrictions. Please report unsatisfactory conditions to room 509 immediately (before you begin work)
